33 weeks and our 1st Ear Infection

Little buddy had been fighting another round of snotty nose and cough for the past few days.  I knew it would only be a matter of time before it got to his ears.  Monday, we got a call from daycare saying that he had a fever of 101.  Jeremy went to go get him and we just made it in to see the pediatrician before they closed for the day.  By the time I got there, poor little guy was passed out on Jeremy's shoulder.  When they took his temperature at the doctor's office it had gotten to 102!  The immediately gave him some Motrin and the doctor confirmed my suspicions of an ear infection.  Both ears were infected, with the right one being a little worse than the left.  A prescription for good 'ol bubble gum Amoxicillin and we were on our way home.

It is so hard seeing your child sick for the first time.  I know this will be the first of many illnesses over the years, but that doesn't make it any easier on me!  He is doing much better now, and finally has a little bit of an appetite back.  We don't want him to loose those chunky monkey thighs!  In other news, I am a little disappointed that Amoxicillin for children no longer is pink.  I mean, come on, it is a bubble gum flavor so therefore it should be pink!

Moving on.....I have fallen in love with a new baby food.  We have been feeding him the Gerber Stage 1 foods, which he has loved, but I thought when we moved up to stage 2 foods we should try something a little different.  Tyler Florence, a Food Network chef, has come out with a new line of all organic baby food.  The combinations are great and Andrew really seems to like the food.  I would highly recommend it to any Moms out there.

Yummy!!

So, all in all it has been an eventful week so far.  Jeremy and I will celebrate 4 years of marriage on February 2nd, and we had both of our birthdays in January.  We are hoping to get out to have a celebratory dinner for all the above events.  It has been a wonderful 4 years, and I look forward to many many more to come!

32 weeks

My sweet boy is getting so big.  I am pretty sure he is close to 22 or 23 pounds at this point.  He is wearing anywhere from 12 to 18 month clothes and he is only 7 months old!  His teachers and I think he will "thin out" a little when he starts to walk.  I sure hope they are right, because I can't seem to keep up with this growing boy.  He wears an outfit once, and then has grown out of it before he can wear it again.

I also think we have two more teeth (his top two) trying to come in now.  He had a few nights this past week when he would wake up at midnight, which is not like him at all, so I am assumptive this is the beginning of a new teething episode.

We are continuing to work with him on standing, crawling, and perhaps talking.  I can't wait for him to say his first word even if it could be "Dada."  He seems very uninterested in trying to crawl, and more interested in trying to walk.  I feel like he will just try and skip over the whole crawling thing and head right on into walking.

31 weeks

Andrew has continued to try and stand up in his crib, and has succeeded several times!  As I noted in the last post, we had to lower his crib as a result of his new found trick.  He had not yet stood up in the crib at school, but the next thing I know we are hearing from his teachers that he pulled up in his bed.  I got really scared because I heard that was grounds for having to move up to the next class, and I am in complete denial that he is ever going to have to leave Infant I!  However, they just took his mobile out of his crib and really did not seem to worried about things.  I know his time in Infant I is short lived, but at least we may have a few more weeks before we have to move!

I forgot to put this picture in last time.  Jeremy and Andrew at the airport for his first plane trip!

My first time sitting in the shopping cart like a big boy!!

My new camera!  Hopefully my picture quality will be improving as I learn how to use it!

30 weeks- 7 months old

Lots of milestones to remember at 7 months old for our Andrew.  He finally cut two bottom teeth after numerous weeks of drooling and gnawing on everything in site.  He continues to have the snotty nose, but I suppose that is just a repercussion of daycare life!

Our first two teeth!!
Next up, Andrew has gotten much better at waving goodbye.  This past Sunday at church he was making friends with everyone in the pews behind us waving away to anyone that would look his way.  Clearly we have quite the social butterfly on our hands!

Another milestone, consider it good or bad, was our little guy figured out how to stand up in his crib.  I actually caught a video of this the other night.  Please note, he was not hurt at all when he falls down! :)

Needless to say we now have to lower Andrew's crib.  It seems like just yesterday we were putting him in that very same bed on his first night home, and I remember commenting how small he looked in that big crib.  Now, he is standing up just seven months later!  It seems like you spend the first few months wishing that your child would do this or that, and then you quickly move on to the phase of NOT wanting them to grow up!!

I am pretty sure our days are numbered in Infant I as well.  Andrew is now the second oldest in the class, so I am pretty sure we will be on the move to Infant II in the next month or two.  It will be sad leaving his teachers, but I know he will do well in his next class.

I am fairly sure we are 20 + pounds!!

29 weeks

29 weeks marks the last week before Andrew turns 7 months old.  I feel like someone has hit the fast forward button because he seems to be hitting more milestones in a shorter period of time.  He is waving bye bye, does some great raspberries, and is working on pulling up.  I have this strange feeling that he is just going to skip over crawling and go straight to walking.

Likes:
Yogurt, sweet potatoes, and PUFFS!  ( I think he could eat a whole container)
His bottle (please note the thunder thighs- he does not miss any meals)
Ollie- he is really starting to take note of him
Shopping carts- now that he can sit up, he LOVES to ride in any cart in any store
Bouncing- in his jumper or just in your lap

Dislikes-
Changing his diaper
Putting on clothes
Taking off clothes
Getting up in the mornings
Getting the snot sucked from his nose!
Getting in his carseat

Did I mention in the last post that we have teeth?  It took a while, but I think his bottom two teeth have finally cut through his gums.  Thank goodness!  We had a few nights where he just woke up out of the blue, and I think it was because he was in a little pain from his new teeth.

Did I mention I received a wonderful gift for Christmas.  My in-laws gave me a fantastic new camera.  Below are a few of my first photos.  I am still trying to learn all the features; it is going to take a while!!!

All smiles!
